For a little bit of culture by the sea, Hinton’s of Conwy is just the ticket. A relatively new addition to the town of Conwy, this charming littl bookshop is a petite boutique with a particular focus on local writing, maps and guidebooks. Delicately spread throughout two rooms – the rear a dream for young readers – Hinton’s will charm with it’s cream shelving and wooden flooring, and it’s overall clean, contemporary look.

There’s a good choice of fiction and some classics too, but it’s the selection of Welsh iterature that really shines here. With everything from local photography books to historic tales, there’s plenty for the discerning reader at Hinton’s of Conwy.

 L’s Coffee and Book Shop

l's

Perhaps more of a cafe than a book shop, but anything that marries great grub with words is a winner in my books! The food at L’s Coffee and Book Shop is really fantastic – great portions for decent prices. Think toasties, wraps and sarnies piled high with fillings and served with all the trimmings. Cakes, tea and coffee make an hour at L’s more than worthwhile.

In terms of books there’s a considered selection of bestsellers and a good choice of cookery books too. Definitely worth a visit when book hunting in Conwy, if only for a hot pot of tea and some yummy homemade food.
